Refractory quality |
| Cast iron is assigned to the classification of building material A1 „non-flammable“ according to DIN 4102 due to the very high melting point. Even in case of a fire no noxious vapours will be emitted. |
Outstanding |
| Furthermore, it is possible to reach outstanding sound levels with cast iron – a feature which means a big asset compared to other materials in our ever louder and more hectic environment not to speak of the increasingly strict regulations. |
Pressure up to 10 bar |
| Hubless cast iron pipes are screwed together with the help of couplings made of steel with EPDM rubber core. This increases stability compared with a plug-in sleeve. Therefore fewer wall fastenings are needed. For high pressure e.g. in case of roof drainage installations a simple claw will do to increase the stability of the connection from 0.5 bar to up to 10 bar. |
Cost cutting |
| These advantages are often enough not considered when it comes to a direct comparison between plastic pipes and cast iron pipes. In the long run, however, they may account for considerable cost savings. |
